Media Advisory: Media invited to join Coast Guard crews for safety and security patrols in Corpus Christi area
WHO: U.S. Coast Guard Station Port Aransas (Texas), Maritime Safety and Security Team Houston/Galveston (MSST 91104) and Maritime Safety and Security Team New Orleans (MSST 91112).
WHAT: Media are invited to ride along with Coast Guard crews during a patrol of the newly-reopened maritime shipping channels. With the Port of Corpus Christi open to commercial vessel traffic with some restrictions, crew members will be assessing potential impacts to aids to navigation and conducting safety and security patrols. The Port of Corpus Christi is the 4th largest port in the United States by tonnage and is an economic driver for the region.
WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Meet at L-Head Seafood & Bait House at 90 Coopers Alley in Corpus Christi. Public parking is available.
Editor's note: Media must RSVP to (504) 444-8726 no later than noon, Sept. 3. There are four spots available, which will be allocated on a first-come basis.
