HOUSTON — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port Zone Houston-Galveston has established Port Condition Recovery status with additional parameters, Friday.

As of 1:30 p.m., the following ports are open as controlled by Vessel Traffic Service Houston-Galveston:
    •    The Galveston Bay Entrance Channel, Outer Bar Channel, Inner Bar Channel, Bolivar Roads Anchorages, Bolivar Roads Channel and Galveston Harbor
    •    Freeport
    •    The Texas City Channel, Texas City Turning Basin and Industrial Canal
    •    The Houston Ship Channel above LB18 to Mitchell’s Point

The Houston Ship Channel above Mitchell’s Point is closed to ship and tow traffic. VTS Houston-Galveston will manage individual movements by light boats and harbor tugs above Mitchell’s Point. The VTS Houston-Galveston director will consider aforementioned movements on a case-by-case basis.

The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from MM350 Westbound to Freeport, Texas, is open to single barge traffic in daylight only. These parameters will be modified by VTS Houston-Galveston upon the completion of further surveys and assessments. A temporary reporting point is in effect at MM350.

The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway MM350 to the Bolivar Barge Terminal MM343.5 is open to 24-hour tow traffic. VTS Houston-Galveston will provide notification upon opening the ICW between MM343.5 and the eastern boundary of the COTP zone at High Island.
