Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay to host open house

WHAT: Are scheduled to host an open house featuring historic boat house tours, an MH-65 Dolphin search-and-rescue demonstration, boat, emergency vehicle and helicopter static displays from Coast Guard, Cal Fire and California Highway Patrol

MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. — Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay personnel are scheduled to host an open house event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the station, located at 200 New Navy Base Road in Eureka.
The free, public event will welcome members of the community onto the base to see Coast Guard helicopters and small boats as well as emergency vehicles from local response agencies. Attendees will be able to interact with the Coast Guard men and women who conduct daily operations in the Humboldt Bay area.
There is also a search-and-rescue demonstration scheduled for noon.
The open house is an annual event held during the area's monthlong Coast Guard City Days celebration.
All attendees must show valid government-issued photo identification to enter.
