MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Survivor to meet with Coast Guard crew in Portsmouth, VA
WHO: Jacob Van Ommen, owner/operator/builder of the sailing vessel Fleetwood and the crew that saved his life
WHAT: Jacob Van Ommen will tell his story and meet the crewmembers who saved his life

WHY:Jacob Van Ommen would like to give thanks to everyone who had a role to play in his rescue
WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 16, 11 a.m.
PORTSMOUTH, Va. - The Coast Guard is scheduled to host media and the survivor of the sailing vessel The Fleetwood that sank just moments after an Air Station Elizabeth City helicopter crew and rescue swimmer pulled him from the water.
Coast Guard members will be available for interviews about the case beginning at 11 a.m.
