NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued four people from a boat that was taking on water approximately 18 miles southwest of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Saturday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at 10:39 a.m. of the 27-foot boat taking on water.

Sector watchstanders directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island to assist the people aboard the boat.

The boatcrew arrived on scene at 11:17 a.m. and recovered the people.

The boatcrew was unable to dewater the boat and the boat overturned.
