Coast Guard medevacs man suffering from heat exhaustion

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a man reported to be suffering from heat exhaustion in the vicinity of Bayou Black near Houma, Louisiana, Thursday.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a request for assistance at 5:23 p.m. from the Terrebonne Sheriff’s Department for a 37-year-old man on a disabled vessel who they were unable to reach.
Watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew at 6:07 p.m.
The crew arrived on scene at 6:38 p.m. and hoisted the survivor.
The survivor was transferred to Terrebonne General Hospital at 7:08 p.m. and was reported in stable condition.
