Coast Guard assists boaters on vessel taking on water near Still Pond, Md.
BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard assisted two boaters after their vessel began taking on water near Still Pond Tuesday morning.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region received a distress call on marine band radio VHF-FM channel 16 from a boater stating his vessel was taking on water.
Sector Maryland-NCR watchstanders launched a 29-foot Response Boat-Small II boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Still Pond to respond.
Once on scene, the RBS II crew passed a dewatering pump to the boaters and successfully dewatered the vessel.
The RBS II crew remained on scene until commercial salvage arrived.
No injuries were reported.
