Hiker medevaced after fall from cliff in Cape Argo Cove Park

 

COOS BAY, Ore -- The Coast Guard assisted in the transport of an injured hiker near Cape Argo Cove Park in Ore., Monday.

Charleston Fire Department personnel successfully transferred the man, who reportedly fell and suffered from a broken ankle, to a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Sector North Bend, who transported him to the Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay.

Charleston Fire Department responders located and stabilized the injured hiker prior to contacting Coast Guard Sector North Bend watchstanders at 9:21 a.m.

The Coast Guard aircrew landed on the beach and were able to extract the hiker without difficulties. 

The hiker was reported to be in stable condition at this time.
