Coast Guard medevacs woman from Catalina Island
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 34-year-old woman from Catalina Island early Monday morning.
At approximately 4:50 a.m., Los Angeles Medical Alert Center notified Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach watchstanders of a woman who fell ill and requested a medevac for a higher level of medical care. After consulting with the duty flight surgeon, watchstanders launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from FOB Mugu to transport the woman.
The Dolphin crew arrived on-scene and transported the woman to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center where she was last reported in stable condition.
