Coast Guard rescues jet skiers in Santa Rosa Sound
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued three missing jet skiers in Santa Rosa Sound, Florida, Sunday.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile received notification of three missing jet skiers at 8:45 p.m.
The missing jet skiers got underway at approximately 6 p.m., and when they took a hard right turn, their jet ski sank from underneath them. Fortunately, all persons on board were wearing life jackets which proved to be essential in keeping them safe until they were rescued by Coast Guard Station Pensacola at 9:35 p.m.
This case is a prime example of why the Coast Guard continues to promote the importance of life-jackets.

- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
- Escambia County Sheriff’s Department
