Coast Guard medevacs 40-year-old woman near Snipes Key, Fla. 

MIAMI — A 40-year-old woman was medevaced by the Coast Guard from Snipes Point near Snipes Key after she was reportedly bitten by a small shark Saturday. 

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received a call over VHF-FM radio channel 16 from a good Samaritan at 12:37 p.m., reporting the incident and the location of the victim. 

A 33-foot Special Purpose Craft - Law Enforcement boat crew from Coast Guard Station Key West arrived on scene and transported the woman and her husband to the station where she was transferred to awaiting emergency medical services in good condition.
