Coast Guard medevacs diver 50 miles southeast of Galveston
HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a man early Sunday morning from a dive charter vessel 50 miles southeast of Galveston.
At 8:20 a.m., a crewmember of the dive charter vessel Fling contacted Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders to report that a 54-year-old man aboard the vessel was suffering from possible decompression sickness.
An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene at 9:55 a.m. and hoisted the man from the vessel.
At 10:51 a.m. the man was delivered to Mainland Medical Center.
The man was reported to be in stable condition.
