MIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued six boaters Thursday from a capsized vessel approximately 10 miles northwest of Key West.

At approximately 3:56 p.m. watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received notification that a 24-foot pleasure craft with six boaters was taking on water. The watchstanders issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast, launched a Station Key West 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew and a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew.

The RBM crew arrived on scene at approximately 4:26 p.m. and recovered all six people. They were transferred to Station Key West where emergency medical services were waiting.

All boaters were reported to be in good condition and the owner of the vessel is arranging for commercial salvage.
