Coast Guard medevacs man, 44, from fishing vessel 40 miles east of Mayport

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevacked a 44-year-old man Friday, approximately 40 miles east of Mayport.

Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watchstanders received notification at 9:40 p.m. that a crewmember aboard the fishing vessel Charlotte Marie had suffered burn injuries during a fire aboard the vessel.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, Georgia, was launched at 10:45 p.m. and arrived on scene at 11:15 p.m.

The man was hoisted and transported to Florida Health hospital in Jacksonville.
