Coast Guard participates in National Cherry Festival Air Show events

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., - Coast Guard crews from Air Station Traverse City, Michigan participated in events marking the start of the National Cherry Festival, including the annual Cherry Festival Air Show, Saturday.

Thousands of spectators along the waterfront watched performances over Grand Traverse Bay by the Coast Guard, the Air Force Thunderbirds, Navy, Canadian Air Force and a Michigan State Police helicopter.

The Air Station also hosted an "open ramp" Friday, providing a crowd of more than 4,000 people the opportunity to get up close and personal with aircraft and crews that were scheduled to participate in the Air Show.
