CG National Retiree Help Desk Toll-Free Phone Line Outage U.S. Coast Guard no topic Update

CG NATIONAL RETIREE HELP DESK (NRHD) NOTICE - HIGH IMPORTANCE: The toll free number (866-664-6245, ext 55381) for the CG NRHD was unexpectedly discontinued in mid-June 2017. The CG NRHD, however, remains operational and can be reached by phone at 1-202-475-5381 or Email at NRHDesk@gmail.com. As discussed in Coast Guard Retiree Services Program, COMDTINST 1800.5 (series), the CG NRHD is an integral function of the CG Retiree Services Program and efforts are underway to re-establish the toll free number. 

In the interim I think most calls to the CG NRHD are made using cell phones and most callers would not incur long-distance charges when calling 1-202-475-5381. 

Finally, if anyone experiences difficulty in contacting the CG NRHD, or has concerns about long-distance charges, they may contact Bob Hinds, CG Retiree Services Program Manager, by phone (work) 202-475-5451, (cell) 410-627-3039 or e-mail at Robert.C.Hinds@uscg.mil.
