SUBJ: AY18 CG CYBER SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS SOLICITATION
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8A
1. This message solicits candidates and outlines the application
process for members interested in special duty assignment as a
Cybersecurity Chief Petty Officer (E7) or Petty Officer (E4-E6)
on either the Cyber Protection Team (CPT) or Cybersecurity
Service Provider (CSSP).
2. This unique duty entails great responsibility and demands
extraordinary commitment from members who display a strong interest
in cybersecurity and have the desire to be part of the CGCYBER team.
3. Applicants must be eligible for a TS/SCI Security Clearance and
be tour complete in assignment year 2018 or 2019 to apply. Specific
application requirements can be found on the Special Assignments
portal page at:
https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/units/psc/psc-epm/SitePages/Special.aspx.
Application: Interested members that meet the eligibility requirements
listed in Ref A, CH 1.E.2, shall submit requests via email to
HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil with the subject line:
(NAME, EMPLID) CANDIDATE, Cyber Special Assignments (CURRENT UNIT NAME).
The body of the email shall have a statement that the member meets the
minimum qualifications noted on the Cybersecurity program document
found on the Special Assignments portal page.
Applicants will also complete an Eresume with command endorsement in
Direct Access using position numbers found on the Special Assignments
portal page. The command endorsement must include backfill considerations
and preferred backfill report date if applicable. The email and Eresume
must be received NLT COB 07 July 2017.
