SUBJ: UPDATE TO TRAVEL WHILE ON ACTIVE DUTY ORDERS POLICY
A. Reserve Policy Manual, COMDTINST M1001.28 (series)
B. The Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
1. This ALCOAST announces the following update to REF (A), Travel While on Active
Duty Orders Policy:
   a. Current policy in Paragraph 3.F.1.c. is incorrect.
   b. The policy is updated so that Travel Entitlements are authorized if
the order issuing official determines that both the primary residence and place of
active duty are within Reasonable Commuting Distance (RCD), but outside of the
corporate limits of the same city or town, of each other and the duty involved
permits commuting, IAW Section 0323 of REF (B).
2. This policy will be incorporated into the next issuance of REF (A), which will
be released within the next year.
