Coast Guard medevacs man, 71, from vessel 4 miles west of Crystal River
YANKEETOWN, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevacked a 71-year-old man Saturday four miles west of the Crystal River Barge Canal.
Medevacked was Donald Puzello.
Coast Guard Station Yankeetown watch standers received notification at 2:45 p.m. from Citrus County Sheriff’s Office stating Puzello was suffering from chest pains while aboard an 18-foot boat with two other adults and one child.
A Coast Guard 24-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water boat crew from Station Yankeetown was diverted at 3:00 p.m.
The boat crew arrived at 3:15 p.m and transferred Puzello aboard. They transported him to EMS at the Crystal River Barge Canal where he was taken to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center for further care.
