Coast Guard medevacs man, 55, from vessel 25 miles east of St. Catherines Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Coast Guard medevacked a 55-year-old man Friday 25 miles east of St. Catherines Island, Georgia.
Coast Guard Sector Charleston Command Center watchstanders received notification at 11:30 a.m. that a passenger aboard the 50-foot vessel Marine May 2 was experiencing symptoms of a stroke.
A Coast Guard Air Station Savannah MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was diverted at 12:02 p.m. and arrived on scene at 1:04 p.m.
The man was hoisted and transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
