Photo Release: Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay change of command ceremony

Scott Anderson, commander, Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, relieved Capt. Benjamin Cooper of the duties and responsibilities of the job of sector commander.  As sector commander, Anderson will lead and oversee the Coast Guard’s missions and personnel throughout southern New Jersey, Philadelphia and Delaware.

PHILADELPHIA - Capt. Scott Anderson, commander, Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, relieved Capt. Benjamin Cooper as sector commander in an official change of command ceremony presided over by Rear Adm. Meredith Austin, commander, Coast Guard 5th District, in Philadelphia, Friday.

Cooper served over two years as the sector commander, a job that oversees the Coast Guard's missions, personnel and assets throughout the southern New Jersey, Philadelphia and Delaware region.

Anderson previously served as the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay deputy.

Rear Adm. Meredith Austin, commander, Coast Guard 5th District, awards Capt. Benjamin Cooper the Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments while assigned as the commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, Philadelphia, June 23, 2017.  Cooper served as commander of Sector Delaware Bay, which oversees aspects such as maritime safety, security, search and rescue and prevention for the Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey region, for over two years.
