Coast Guard rescues 4 people near Dauphin Island
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard rescued four survivors from a capsized vessel near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Monday.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at 11:18 a.m. of a capsized vessel with four people aboard including two children in Katrina Cut on the north side of the Intracoastal Waterway.
Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island launched an 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew, and Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile diverted an MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter aircrew.
The aircrew assisted by locating the capsized vessel and vectoring in the Coast Guard boat crew, which recovered all four survivors.
The boat crew transferred the survivors to Station Dauphin Island.
