PHOTO RELEASE: Coast Guard marches in Memorial Day in Portsmouth, VA

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — U.S. Coast Guard members from local units marched in the 2017 Portsmouth Memorial Day Parade today.
Several Coast Guard members from assorted units local to the Mid-Atlantic area marched as well as showcased a 29-foot Response Boat-Small during the parade. Honored attendees included RDML Meredith Austin, commander of the Fifth Coast Guard District, Capt. Brenda Kerr, commander of Base Portsmouth, and Master Chief Petty Officer Adwoa S. Hendricks, command master chief for the Fifth Coast Guard District.
Portsmouth has the distinction of hosting the oldest continuous Memorial Day parade in the country and is also a designated Coast Guard City.
