PHOTO RELEASE: Coast Guard medevacs man, 28, from sailboat near Fort Myers Beach

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Coast Guard and Lee County EMS medevacked a 28-year-old man Tuesday from a sailboat near Estero Bay after the Coast Guard received a report that the man was suffering from abdominal pains.
Medevacked was Richard Hammel, 28, aboard the sailboat Anna Maria.
At 8:52 a.m. watch standers from Sector St. Petersburg received a report from Station Fort Myers Beach via Marine Emergency Response Team Activation stating a man aboard the sailboat Anna Maria was suffering from abdominal pains.
A Coast Guard 29-foot Special Purpose Craft-Shallow Water boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach launched with three Lee County EMS personnel aboard and located the man aboard the sailboat at 9:15 a.m.
Hammel was transferred to the Station Fort Myers beach where a Lee County EMS ambulance waited for transport for further medical care.
