Coast Guard to establish security zone in Key West Harbor

MIAMI – The Coast Guard is scheduled to establish a security zone Friday in Key West Harbor for the 2017 Conch Republic Navy Parade and Battle.

The security zone is scheduled to begin Friday at 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. about 150 yards off shore of Ocean Key Sunset Pier in Mallory Square to the Hilton Pier in the Key West Harbor. No person or vessel may enter into, transit through, anchor in, or remain within the regulated area without approval from the Captain of the Port Key West or a designated representative.

The Coast Guard also reminds boaters the discharge of any non-biodegradable material into the water, including water balloons, plastic and any other type of debris, is prohibited.
