Coast Guard rescues stranded jet skier from Abaco Islands

MIAMI – A Coast Guard rescued a stranded jet skier Monday from Abaco Islands, Bahamas.
Watch standers with the Coast Guard 7th District command center received a request for assistance from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force at approximately 4 p.m. Monday for a jet skier stranded on Abaco Islands. The watch standers launched a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew forward deployed to Great Inagua, Bahamas. The helicopter crew arrived on scene and hoisted the jet skier who was transferred ashore to the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in Nassau, Bahamas.
The jet skier reported he was stranded on Abaco Islands for two days after his jet ski malfunctioned.
