Coast Guard medevacs injured male
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a male from his pleasure craft near Ship Island, Mississippi, Friday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile were notified at 2:31 p.m. that a man had run his pleasure craft aground and sustained a leg injury.
Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Station Gulfport 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew with three Biloxi Fire Department paramedics at 2:45 p.m. The boatcrew arrived on scene at 3:25 p.m. and were assisted by a good Samaritan who transferred the man to the boatcrew due to shallow water.
The survivor was transferred to Station Gulfport at 5:04 p.m. where he was taken by American Medical Response workers and transferred to Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
He was reported in stable condition.
