Coast Guard medevacs adult, child from car accident

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced two victims of a car accident from a remote location on Matagorda Peninsula, near Pierce Airfield, Saturday.

At 6:19 p.m., Matagorda County Sheriff’s office called Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders to request assistance to medevac a 12-year-old boy with a hip injury and a 30-year-old woman with a knee injury from a two vehicle accident, due to its remote location.

At 7:57 p.m., the Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew arrived on scene, picked them up and flew them to Calhoun County Airport, where EMS transported them to Citizen’s Medical Center in Victoria.

Both are reported to be in stable condition.
