Coast Guard presents Meritorious Public Service Award to member of EPA

This award is the second-highest honor given to citizens, groups or organizations to recognize substantial contribution to the Coast Guard that produced tangible results and provide unique benefits to the public.

For 18 years, Fields served as the EPA co-chair to RRT-10 and to the U.S./Canadian Joint Response Team, through a number of real spill incidents and significant spill exercises, always striving to improve spill preparedness in the Pacific Northwest.

Fields, who is the emergency response program manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, was recognized for his selfless dedication to the governance of environmental cleanup, preparedness and environmental compliance in the Pacific Northwest.
