Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw to break ice for opening of Soo Locks
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Members of the media are invited to ride aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw as it conducts ice breaking operations Monday in preparation for the Soo Locks opening.
The Soo Locks are scheduled to open March 25, 2017.

Departing from and returning to Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste. Marie, 337 E. Water St., Sault Ste. Marie, MI
Personnel from Sector Sault Ste. Marie and the Mackinaw will be available to give interviews on Coast Guard missions, focusing on ice breaking and maritime transportation.
