Full-scale exercise completed by Coast Guard, partner agencies

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard and partner agencies completed a full-scale oil spill response exercise Thursday, March 9, 2017, in Houma, Louisiana, and The Woodlands, Texas.

 

Partner agencies included but not limited to:

  • Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
  • Secretaría de Marina
  • NOAA
  • Environmental Protection Agency
  • Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator’s Office
  • Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality

The exercise was conducted to improve the effectiveness of the Southeast Louisiana Area Contingency Plan, the Anadarko Petroleum Corporation Oil Spill Response Plan, and the MEXUSGULF Regional Annex.

 

The exercise is the culmination of a multi-year exercise series between APC and the Coast Guard that began in 2015.
