Coast Guard helicopter airlifts injured ice climber near Pictured Rocks
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — An aircrew from Air Station Traverse City airlifted an injured ice climber suffering from head and back injuries Friday evening.
The Coast Guard is not releasing her name and there are no photos or video available for this case.
The climber fell while ice climbing at Pictured Rocks Ice Caves in Munising, Michigan. Due to location and terrain, a ground evacuation was not possible.
The Coast Guard was called to assist and the aircrew conducted a hoist of the injured climber and transported her to Munising Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
