Coast Guard Cutter Stingray crew tows fishing vessel to shore
NEW ORLEANS – Crewmembers of Coast Guard Cutter Stingray are towing a disabled fishing vessel with three people aboard approximately 180 nautical miles offshore of Fort Morgan, Alabama, Monday.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report from the 78-foot fishing vessel, Swaggy B, that they were disabled at 6:49 a.m., Sunday.
Members of Coast Guard Cutter Stingray launched to assist the vessel and arrived on scene at 1:50 a.m., Monday.
The Cutter Stingray crew began towing the Swaggy B at approximately 8:19 a.m. The tow is estimated to take approximately 27 hours as they transit to Mobile Bay, Alabama.
There are no reported injuries or medical concerns to the crewmembers of the Swaggy B.
