Subject: FDA Creation and Modification of Product Codes announced on CSMS 14-000538 is now COMPLETE

Not all of the product codes that were listed as NEW Product Codes were successfully added to the ACS Product Code Table. FDA and CBP have identified the product codes that were missing. Those product codes have now been added to ACS.

Additionally, the attached PDF that listed the product codes included hyphens as the space holders where the Subclass and PIC appear (positions 4 and 5 of the product code). Since a hyphen is a valid character within product codes, but is not used in any of the actual product codes that were announced, this has been replaced with the bracket pair [] for the Subclass and the PIC on the new attachment. This is how the product codes normally are announced to indicate that several different Subclasses and PICS apply within that code.

The ABI product code query (NP transaction) allows a query of the product code with spaces in these Subclass and PIC fields.

So a query of 20A 05 (with spacefill of position 4 and 5) returns all product codes with Industry and Class 20A and Product 05.

For questions about the product codes with FDA, contact PCBFeedback@fda.hhs.gov

Questions about the ABI Product Code Query can be addressed to your assigned CBP Client Representative.
