CBP has been notified by several ACE Post Summary Correction (PSC) filers that a fix deployed to ACE production this past weekend had an unexpected impact. PSC entry summary AE transactions which do not include a reason code at the entry summary header level are being rejected – incorrectly – by ACE.

The business rules and CATAIR specifications indicate that a PSC must include at least one reason code at the header or line level. Both are not required.

CBP is working to get this issue resolved. In the meantime, there is a workaround. Until this issue is fixed, a PSC transaction will NOT be successfully processed in ACE UNLESS it includes a reason code at the header level – even if line reason codes are also included. The workaround is to include header reason code H99 in a 35-record.

A CSMS Message will be issued as soon as this issue is resolved.
