In response to an OMB mandate, CBP is migrating all public facing applications behind a Trusted Internet Gateway (TIC). The ACE application is one of the public facing CBP applications that will be migrating to the TIC. Migration of the ACE application will consist of a change in the public IP currently associated with the ACE URL. Prior to CBP migrating the ACE application to the TIC, CBP will establish a secondary path via the TIC to the ACE application. Users are being requested to conduct host file testing to ensure they can access the ACE application via this secondary connection prior to CBP migrating the application behind the TIC. Attached you will find instructions for how to make changes to your local host file in order to accomplish this testing. The new public facing IP for this change is 216.81.83.93. You will need administrative rights to your laptop/PC to make these host file changes.

The goal of the testing will be to ensure you can still access the ACE application via the secondary path. After you make the host file changes you should still be able to access ACE login screen using the same URL (ace.cbp.dhs.gov). The established test window for conducting host testing is December 29th - January 9th. If you encounter any problems during testing, please contact David Gilliam (david.lee.gilliam@cbp.dhs.gov), David Griggs (david.griggs@cbp.dhs.gov) and or (james.j.howard@cbp.dhs.gov).
