Vanguard Pest Control closing its Quarantine Treatment Facility in Newark, NJ on July 31, 2025

Vanguard Pest Control Company, Inc. will close its Quarantine Treatment Facility in Newark, NJ effective July 31, 2025. Vanguard will not accept shipments after July 24, 2025. All shipments must be picked up on or before July 30, 2025.

Importers have relied on Vanguard’s services for condition of entry treatment and treatment for quarantine significant pests. Importers will be permitted to import commodities requiring fumigation through Newark after the facility closure.

Condition of entry containerized goods will require transport to a fumigation facility within the Port of Philadelphia Area of Responsibility. Any non-containerized commodities requiring fumigation due to condition of entry and/or quarantine pests may be transported to and treated at a fumigation facility within the Port of JFK International Airport Area of Responsibility. Further guidance regarding these movements will be provided as it becomes available.
