CSMS # 65494403 - FDA’s ITACS and Notice of FDA Action Update to FDA Line Numbering Format

Due to CBP’s update to accommodate up to 32 HTS codes per entry line, deployed June 28, 2025, (see CSMS # 65106231, 65265235, 65385089, 65449698), the line numbering format sent to FDA (and all partner government agencies [PGAs]) has been modified resulting in a display change in FDA’s Import Trade Auxiliary Communications Systems (ITACS) and on the Notice of FDA Action.

This new entry line number format sent to PGAs will be displayed in ITACS and should be noted if using the CBP Line Number query in ITACS. Note that FDA recommends searching on the entry number only. If the line number is entered incorrectly, the search will return no results.

This change to entry line number format will also be on the Notices of FDA Action for entries received after CBP’s deployment. Note that some longer FDA line numbers may wrap in the space provided on Notices of FDA Action.
