This message is to advise of the issuance of the Laredo Field Office Trade Notice regarding the new requirement of the Quick Response (QR) code on manifests/cover sheets in the truck environment at the 8 ports of entry within the Laredo Field Office effective August 11, 2024.

You can also begin submitting QR codes on your manifests/cover sheets now like the Port of Brownsville Trade Community.

This is important because it will allow CBP Port Personnel to begin getting acquainted with this new process before the effective date and will assist in the following:

Efficiency: Simplifies data entry and reduces manual errors.
Speed: Accelerates processing times during inspections.
Accuracy: Ensures precise transmission of manifest information and links pre-primary X-ray to shipment.
Identification: Quickly identifies trucks via pre-primary X-ray systems at selected locations.
Establishes Consistency among 8 ports of entry.
