CSMS # 59950256 - Document Image System (DIS) Implementation Guide Updates

The Document Image System (DIS) implementation guide (IG) has been updated and can be found in the ‘DRAFT CHAPTERS: FUTURE CAPABILITIES’ section as ‘DIS-XML Implementation Guide’ located here: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/ace/catair. Please see the change log for specific details.

CBP is modifying the document review process for documents submitted to DIS. Currently, trade only receives a review status when a document is rejected. Upon deployment of these changes, trade may receive additional review statuses of accepted or under review when a document is reviewed in DIS. Comments may also accompany the review status that is returned to the filer. This functionality will frequently be used for vehicle export filers.

NOTE: Even though the capability will be available, a review status will not be sent for all documents reviewed by CBP.

Additionally, these review statuses (accepted, rejected, under review) may be sent to trade when a document is submitted via email.

These changes are currently available in CERTIFICATION for trade testing. Filers can reach out to their CBP Client Representative for questions related to EDI transactions and testing support.

These changes for EDI and email submissions to DIS are expected to be deployed to PRODUCTION no earlier than April 27, 2024.
