The Modernization of the Customs Broker Regulations and Elimination of Customs Broker District Permit Final Rules (87 FR 63267 and 87 FR 63262), which went into effect on December 19, 2022, eliminated broker districts and district permits. CBP automatically transitioned brokers with only an active district permit to a national permit prior to December 19, 2022.
CBP’s Broker Management Branch (BMB) has printed and mailed national permits to the Office of Record address on file with CBP for all brokers that were transitioned from district permits to national permits. If a broker was transitioned to a national permit and has not received a mailed paper permit, please submit notification via email to BMB (brokermanagement@cbp.dhs.gov) and provide an updated Office of Record address where the permit should be sent. BMB will process requests as they are received.
Questions regarding this message should be sent to: Broker Management Branch, Office of Trade at brokermanagement@cbp.dhs.gov.
