The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has created new Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) Process Indicator Codes (PIC) for Industry Code 54-Vit/Min/Prot/Unconv Diet(Human/Animal). They are listed below and are available immediately.

PIC Code/Description

I/Vegan Capsules

U/Chewable Gel

Use of PIC code I: All vegan capsules produced with material derived from plants. Gelatin capsules are derived from animals (PIC F & H).

Use of PIC code U: All gummy or soft chewable products, including vegan gummies.
