CSMS # 56652337 - Export Manifest – ACE CERT Deployment of Response Message 199 – (INVALID BILL TYPE)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) completed an Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Certification (CERT) Environment deployment on 6/15/2023 for the Ocean Electronic Export Manifest. The deployment included the release of the new Informational Response Message 199 – (INVALID BILL TYPE) and is now available for testing.

A date for release to the Production environment will be sent in a future message.

Documentation related to the new response 199 – (INVALID BILL TYPE) is now available in Appendix J – Response Codes and can be found at: https://www.cbp.gov/document/guidance/ace-export-manifest-appendix-j.

Trade and software developers who submit via the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) should update their software for these changes.
