CSMS # 54090056 - CBP Publishes Federal Register Notice and Information Notice for Vessel Entrance and Clearance System (VECS) Automation Test.
On November 21, 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published Federal Register Notice (FRN) Document Number 2022-25284 titled Vessel Entrance and Clearance Automation Test. The VECS test will roll out to individual maritime ports successively over two years, beginning with Gulfport, MS on December 19, 2022. As ports are added to the pilot, CBP will work with local Field Offices and Ports to coordinate training for both vessel agents and CBP field personnel.
