CSMS #51883317 - Secure File Transport Protocol (SFTP) Connections for CBP Automated Systems
CBP is aware that filers using Secure File Transport Protocol (SFTP) connections for CBP automated systems are encountering issues with connecting and/or staying connected.
There are a limited number of SFTP connections available for the trade and these connections are frequently full. Therefore, when a filer is not actively transmitting data, their connection is severed so that other filers can connect and transmit their data to CBP.
Any filer that is unable to connect to the SFTP servers should continue trying to connect. Those filers will be able to connect when a connection becomes available. For AES filers that have an ACE portal account with access to AES Direct, that is an alternative that could be used for urgent shipments.
CBP is working to make more resources available to ease this congestion.
