CSMS #50861476 - Reminder: ACE Portal Modernization – Phase 1 Features Now Available
On January 22, 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) successfully deployed the first phase of the ACE Portal Modernization. The modernized features include a new login screen, a new home page, and upgraded account information display and edit features. To access the modernized ACE Portal, users must first create a modernized ACE Portal account. As part of this process, users will complete a one-time sync of existing ACE Portal access by entering their legacy ACE Portal username and password.
Users have until February 20, 2022 to transition to using the new login page. Beginning February 20, users will no longer be able to log in from the legacy login page. At that time, the Legacy ACE Portal URL (https://ace.cbp.dhs.gov) will begin redirecting users to the modernized ACE Portal (https://ace.cbp.gov).
Note on Internet Browser: If trade users are using Internet Explorer, access to modernized ACE Portal functionality may be limited. Alternatively, Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome enable access to all features.
For more information on the modernized ACE Portal access process, please review the Modernized ACE Portal Quick Reference Guide.
In addition, please note the two following updates to the access process:
1. The Not a member? hyperlink has been changed to the CREATE AN ACCOUNT button. Select the CREATE AN ACCOUNT button to display the Create Your CBP Account page.
2. Multifactor Authentication (MFA) was added to the login process. Every time users log into the modernized ACE Portal, CBP will send an email with a security token to the account’s associated email address. Type the security token in the Security Token field and select the VERIFY button. After verification, the Home page displays.
Additional information on MFA: MFA is an authentication method that requires two or more verification factors to access an account. For the modernized ACE Portal, the new MFA prompt requires users to provide a security token code in addition to username and password. The ACE security token codes are temporary digital passcodes that verify an ACE user’s login credentials. Security token codes are automatically sent to the email address associated with the ACE Portal account after the user enters username and password. If the user did not receive a security token code by email, or the code has expired, click “Resend Security Token.” Security token codes expire after five minutes. If the user has not logged on within five minutes of a security token code’s issuance, a new code must be requested. A new security token code will be required each time a user logs on to the ACE Portal.
ACE users who need assistance logging in to the modernized ACE Portal or resetting passwords should contact the ACE Account Service Desk (ASD) at 866-530-4172 or ACE.Support@cbp.dhs.gov.
