U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is planning to deploy Collections functionality in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) using a phased approach. The first release will focus on ACH processing and is currently planned to deploy in late summer 2019. Additional capabilities planned for later releases will include other receivables and collections, refunds and cashiers/non-cashiers, and billing and debt collection.
Input from the trade community is being sought via a webinar on June 19, 2019 on the billing and debt collection processes. Specifically, CBP’s Office of Finance will be holding a webinar to discuss the changes to the deferred tax process as it relates to distilled wine & spirits on June 19 at 1:00 pm EST. Topics discussed will include a consolidated billing process for deferred tax on distilled wine & spirits, new timeline for payment of deferred tax bills on distilled wine & spirits, and benefits of new process for deferred tax on distilled wine & spirits. Outcomes of the webinar will inform the development of these processes in a later release of ACE Collections. Participants must attend via webinar.
Please send registration requests to shawn.c.kaus@cbp.dhs.gov. A webinar link will be provided to all confirmed registrants.
Please continue to monitor CSMS and www.cbp.gov/ace for more updates on deployments of Collections functionality to ACE.
