Effective Monday, October 1, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will adjust the hours of operation at the Danville and Metaline Falls, WA Ports of Entry (POE). Recently, CBP assessed workload volumes, staffing, and infrastructure costs at various northern border POEs. The Ports of Danville and Metaline Falls were identified for modification of operational hours to realign resources to workload. This adjustment will allow CBP to properly align staffing with workload, maintain CBPs inspectional and enforcement missions, and redirect resources to ports with greater commercial and passenger volumes.
The current hours of operation for the Ports of Danville are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Effective October 1, 2018, the new hours of operation at Danville will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the winter and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the summer. Travelers wishing to cross into the U.S. when the port is closed may cross at the Laurier, Port of Entry, open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and is located approximately 19 miles east of Danville.
The current hours of operation at Metaline Falls are 8:00 a.m. to midnight daily. The new hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. year round. Travelers wishing to cross into the U.S. after hours may cross at the Frontier, Washington Port of Entry open 24 hours and is located approximately 52 miles west of the Metaline Falls POE, or at the Port Hill, Idaho Port of Entry 55 miles to the east.
