CSMS messages 18-000071 and 18-000132 advised the trade community that CBP would begin implementing validations to ensure active type 4 bonds are in place beginning on February 15, 2018. During the May 5, 2018 deployment, CBP implemented the validation to ensure the FIRMS code reported in the e214 transmission has an active type 4 bond associated with their ACE account. Filers experiencing rejects 009 NO FTZ OPERATOR BOND ON FILE FOR ZONE and/or 028 INVALID FIRMS CODE should ensure that the type 4 bond is active. Filers with an active type 4 bond that are receiving this reject should contact the FTZ Officer at their local port and request their ACE account be updated with their active type 4 bond. The update may take as much as 24 hours to become effective for an electronic FTZ filing after the FTZ Officer inputs this information.
