Trade Policy Updates

The PGA Message Set Implementation Guidelines for data collection, via the PGA Message Set, for the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) pursuant to the rule published by NMFS on December 9, 2016 has been posted on cbp.gov at the following link:

The rule goes into effect on January 1, 2018. This document is the Implementation Guide for only the Seafood Import Monitoring Program of NMFS. Some of the products included in this program are covered by the NMFS 370 and/or the NMFS HMS programs as well. You must provide the appropriate data for each of the programs, including SIMP. SIM Program schedule:

• CERT – No later than the first week of October 2017

• PROD – November 2017 – for restricted filer/piloting/testing

• PROD Deployment – January 2018
